Standard bead counts and what they mean
- 33 beads. Used for Tasbih Fatimah: three cycles cover 33 SubhanAllah, 33 Alhamdulillah, 34 Allahu Akbar (see the guide).
- 99 beads. Matches the traditional list of the Beautiful Names of Allah. Three cycles reach 297.
- 100 beads. Convenient for round-number targets like 100, 1000, 33,000.
Round-number targets and their sources
- 100 SubhanAllahi wa bihamdih daily. The Prophet ﷺ said that whoever recites this 100 times in a day, their sins will be wiped away even if they were like the foam of the sea (Sahih al-Bukhari 6405).
- 100 istighfar daily. The Prophet ﷺ himself sought forgiveness more than 70 or 100 times a day (Sahih al-Bukhari 6307; Sahih Muslim 2702).
- 33 SubhanAllah, 33 Alhamdulillah, 34 Allahu Akbar after each prayer. Tasbih Fatimah (Sahih Muslim 596).
