Tasbih on a shared family device

On a shared device, the count belongs to the browser, not to a person. Sibha keeps the running total in the device's own local storage, so whoever picks the tablet up next sees the last total left on it. There is no account and no sign-in, so the practical way to share is to reset between people, or to give each person their own browser profile or private window.

Three ways a family can share one device

• Reset between turns. Simplest option. Press reset, set the target, hand it over. Nothing carries across.
• Separate browser profiles. Most browsers support multiple profiles or user accounts on a tablet. Each profile gets its own storage, so each person has their own running total and their own target.
• A private window per person. Good for a guest. The count exists while the window is open and disappears when it closes.

What is actually stored, and where?

The current count, your target, and your display preferences. All of it sits in the browser on that device. Nothing is sent to a server, there is no account to create, and there is no record tying a count to a name. Full detail is on the privacy page. Counting together rather than separately

For a family doing the post-prayer sequence together, one device on the table works well: set Tasbih Fatimah and let one person tap while everyone recites. The sequence moves from 33 SubhanAllah to 33 Alhamdulillah to 34 Allahu Akbar on its own, so nobody has to call out the switch.

Children and the counter

There are no adverts, no purchases, no messages, and no external links inside the counter, so it is safe to hand to a child without supervision.
