Duas for forgiveness of sins
Every human sins. The gate of forgiveness never closes as long as the soul has not left the body. These are the words the Prophet chose.
Istighfar is not a formula. It is a return. The Prophet asked forgiveness a hundred times a day. What follows is the exact set of du’as scholars call the strongest: Sayyidul Istighfar, the du’a of Yunus in the belly of the fish, the words of Adam after the mistake in the garden.
Read one with meaning rather than a hundred by rote. Then read it a hundred times because that is what the Prophet did.

How many times should I say istighfar a day?
The Prophet said he asked forgiveness a hundred times a day even though his past and future had been forgiven. A hundred is the sunnah baseline. Consistency matters more than a single burst of numbers.
Does istighfar wipe major sins?
