Can I do dhikr on my period?

Yes. Verbal dhikr is unrestricted during menstruation. You can freely say SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illa Allah, and istighfar throughout the day.

Detail

Menstruation restricts the ritual prayer (salah) and reciting the Quran with the intention of tilawah. Dhikr is a separate act and continues without limit.

Silent remembrance is always permitted. Verbal remembrance of the standard phrases is also permitted by broad scholarly agreement.

Duas and phrases that happen to appear in the Quran (like alhamdulillah or the ta`awwudh) are said with the intention of dhikr, not tilawah, and remain fine.

This is a moment where a calm digital counter is especially useful, because the daily rhythm of prayer is paused.
