- At the start of prayer (takbir al-ihram) and at each transition inside prayer.
- In the call to prayer (adhan) and iqamah.

- The heavy L. The l in Allah is pronounced thick and dark, tongue flat and back, closer to the l in the English word ball than the l in leaf.

- Rhythm. There is a natural micro-pause between Allahu and akbar. Running them together flattens the phrase, which is why it sounds distinct in the adhan.
