Terms of use

These terms cover how you may use Sibha. They are written in plain English on purpose.

Last updated 2026-08-29. By using the site you agree to what is written below. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What Sibha is

Sibha is a free digital tasbih (dhikr counter) and a small library of supporting Islamic content. It runs entirely in your web browser. You do not need to sign up. You do not need to install anything.

2. Free personal use

You may use Sibha for your own personal, non-commercial worship and study, on any device, for as long as it is online. You do not need to ask permission and you do not owe us anything. It is provided free, with no payments of any kind.

3. What we ask you not to do

  • Do not scrape the site to rebuild a copy of it, or to train an AI model without a separate written agreement.
  • Do not resell access to Sibha, wrap it in another app, or charge people to use it.
  • Do not attempt to break the site, probe it for vulnerabilities without responsibly reporting to hello@sibha.app, or use it to send spam or abusive content through any feedback form.
  • Do not present the content here as a formal religious ruling (fatwa). It is a study aid. See our editorial policy.

4. Ownership

The design, source code, original writing, and branding of Sibha are © 1970 Sibha. All rights reserved. Qur'anic text and classical hadith are in the public domain; translations we quote remain the property of their translators and are used within fair-use limits with attribution on our sources page.

5. Your data stays on your device

We do not run user accounts. Your counts, settings, and totals are stored on the device you are using, in your browser's local storage. Clearing your browser data will delete them. See our privacy policy for the full picture.

6. No warranty

Sibha is provided as is and as available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. You use it at your own risk.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sibha and anyone contributing to Sibha will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, worship time, or good will, arising out of your use of the site. In any jurisdiction that does not permit a full exclusion, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which for a free site is zero).

8. Changes to the site

We may add pages, remove pages, redesign the counter, or shut the site down entirely at any time and without notice. We hope you will always be able to save a backup of your local data through Settings, but we cannot guarantee it.

9. Changes to these terms

When we update these terms we will change the "last updated" date at the top. If the change is material we will call it out on the home page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.

10. Governing law and contact

Sibha is an independent project run by an individual, not an incorporated company. These terms are read under the laws of England and Wales where local law allows, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and nothing here removes any consumer right you hold in your own country. Almost every dispute can be resolved by an honest conversation over email, so please start there.
