Does istighfar increase wealth?
Yes, that is the plain reading of Surah Nuh 71:10-12. Istighfar is tied in the Quran to rain, wealth, children, and gardens. It is a means, not a magic trick.
Detail
Surah Nuh 71:10-12: "I said: seek forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. He will send rain upon you in showers, and give you increase in wealth and children, and provide for you gardens and rivers."
Classical scholars (Ibn Kathir, al-Qurtubi) read this as a general principle: sincere and continual istighfar removes obstacles to rizq.
It is a means, not a transaction. Sincerity, effort, and gratitude are still required. Istighfar is not a shortcut around them.
A practical daily target: 100 astaghfirullah, and Sayyidul Istighfar morning and evening.
