What is a wird?
A wird (وِرْد) is a fixed daily portion of dhikr, dua, or Quran that you commit to and repeat without fail. The word originally means a turn at a watering place. Your wird is the amount you draw each day.
Detail
The defining feature is consistency, not size. The Prophet ﷺ said the most beloved deeds to Allah are the ones done regularly, even if small (Sahih al-Bukhari 6464).
A typical starter wird: one hundred istighfar, one hundred salawat, one hundred la ilaha illa Allah. That is roughly ten minutes.
Set the floor low enough that a bad day cannot break it. Thirty three of one phrase is a real wird if you never miss it.
If you miss a day, make it up rather than restarting the whole habit. Abandoning a wird entirely is the failure, not falling behind.
