What dhikr helps with anxiety?

The three most directly sourced are la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah, hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel, and Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min al-hammi wa al-hazan. The Quran states plainly that hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah (Surah al-Ra'd 13:28).

Detail

La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah is described as a treasure of Paradise (Sahih al-Bukhari 6384). It works on anxiety by relocating control away from you.

Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel was said by Ibrahim in the fire and by the Prophet ﷺ and his companions when threatened (Surah Al Imran 3:173).

The dua for worry and grief in Sahih al-Bukhari 6363 asks refuge from anxiety, sadness, incapacity, laziness, debt, and being overpowered. It names the whole cluster.

A steady count helps here specifically. Repetition with a fixed target gives the mind something to hold, which is why a counter suits anxious moments.

Dhikr is not a replacement for medical care. Seek treatment where it is needed, and treat remembrance as what steadies you alongside it.
