Is tasbih mentioned in the Quran?
Yes. The Arabic root s-b-h (سبح), from which tasbih is derived, appears more than 90 times in the Quran. Verses like Surah al-Waqi`ah 56:96 and Surah al-Isra 17:44 explicitly command tasbih.

Surah al-Waqi`ah 56:96: "So glorify (fa-sabbih) the name of your Lord, the Most Great."
Surah al-Isra 17:44: "There is not a thing but glorifies (yusabbihu) His praise."
Surah Ta-Ha 20:130: "And glorify (wa sabbih) the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting."
The Quran itself uses the same verb Muslims use for the counting practice. The tool called tasbih is named after the act.
