Simple counter. How it works and what it is for

Most counters online are buried under adverts, options and pop-ups. This one is a single large number and a button that fills the screen. Press to add one, undo to take one back, reset to start again. Everything else, including targets and accessibility settings, is tucked behind one small settings icon so it never gets in the way.

What makes a counter simple?

One job done without ceremony. There is no dashboard, no sign-in wall, no cookie banner asking for consent to track you, and no advert that steals a tap. The number is the largest thing on the screen because the number is the only thing that matters.

Is a simple counter less capable?

No. Undo, targets, keyboard support, a saved total and offline use are all here. They are simply out of the way until you ask for them, which is a different thing from being absent.

Who is a simple counter for?

Anyone who has to count while doing something else: stocktakers, coaches, stewards, nurses, knitters, surveyors and anyone counting recitations. The less the tool asks of your attention, the more of it goes on the task.

Frequently asked questions

Is this simple counter free?

Yes, and there is no advertising, no account and no paid tier.

Can I still set a target on a simple counter?

Yes. Targets, along with accessibility options, sit behind the settings icon so the main screen stays uncluttered.

Is this counter free?

Yes. It is free to use, has no adverts, no premium tier and no sign-up. Every feature is available to everyone.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once the page has loaded once, the counter keeps working with no internet connection and your count is kept on your device.

Is my count saved if I close the tab?

Yes. The current count is stored in your browser on your own device, so reopening the page picks up where you left off. Clearing your browser data clears the count.
