A number counter keeps a single running number on screen and lets you add to it one at a time. This one shows the number large enough to read across a room, counts with a tap, a click or the spacebar, and remembers the total on your device if you close the tab and come back later.
Tap or click the counting area, or press the spacebar. Each input adds one. There is no need to type the number: the point of a counter is that your attention stays on the thing you are counting rather than on a keyboard.
It counts up, and undo takes it back down one at a time. If what you need is a countdown to zero from a set number, use target mode instead: set the target and the counter shows how many are left as you go, which is the same information in a more useful form.
There is no practical limit. Mechanical counters stop at 9999 because they only have four wheels. A digital counter has no wheels, so long counts into the tens of thousands are fine.
